Harrington Receives Election Service Award
Contributed by: S Auld on 10/15/2009

At the Martin County Republican Club Luncheon, Supervisor of Elections, Vicki Davis, presented to Hap Harrington, dedicated Poll Worker, of Hobe Sound an award for his over 20 years of service to the Elections Process in Florida. She noted his unwavering commitment to serve the people of the state and in particular Martin County. Harrington remembers the most challenging primary election following Hurricane Andrew in 1992 in South Miami. He recalls that people came to the polls without identification due to the effects of the hurricane. He had each fill out an affidavit and proceeded to allow them to vote; no means of communication to the Supervisor of Election existed. He did his very best to preserve the process. 'I love it!" he stated. He also praised Supervisor of Elections, Davis for her fine work and the work of her staff.
