United Way of Martin County Foundation recently elected its 2009-10 executive committee whose one-year term begins July 1.
The officers include: President Leo Clancy, Harbour Ridge resident; Vice President Ted Brown, Bank of America; Treasurer Bob Thomas, CPA; and Secretary Jim Vojcsik, United Way of Martin County.
"These uncertain economic times remind us how important long-term fiscal stability is to the United Way and its ability to carry out its work. I believe in the Foundation's mission to create a permanent fund to provide for the current and future needs of children, families and the elderly in our county," Clancy said.
"As newly elected president, I am both honored and delighted to have the opportunity to work with my colleagues to do all we can to increase the awareness and the assets of the Foundation."
The Foundation's mission is to improve the quality of life for Martin County residents through the development and stewardship of assets maintained by the Foundation.
Created as a 501(c) (3) public charity, the Foundation is designed to provide an endowment fund to assure the mission of the United Way of Martin County is achieved for current and future generations.
Endowment funds raised and managed by the Foundation increase the United Way of Martin County's ability to meet changing and emerging needs all Martin County residents.
The Foundation provides a vehicle for United Way supporters to assure, either posthumously or during their lifetimes, their United Way will continue to provide long-lasting support for the many organizations which make Martin County the wonderful and supportive community it is.
