West Palm Beach, FL - Alzheimer's Community Care is proud to announce its new Garden of Memories. The new addition to the organization's NorthStuartSpecializedAdultDayServiceCenter, is located at the Prince of Peace Lutheran Church, 2200 North Federal Highway.

The Garden of Memories features a gazebo, walking paths, gardening areas and outside seating. Designed to provide an important form of therapy for Alzheimer's patients, the beautiful setting enables patients to take pleasure in the various joys of nature and enjoy relaxing strolls.

"A huge thank you to our many community partners who helped to make this possible. We could not have created such a wonderful setting without the collaboration of our team of dedicated professionals and our many caring community friends and neighbors," said Kathy Walker, program manager for the DayServiceCenter.

Unlike most traditional adult day care programs, the 11 Alzheimer's Community Care Specialized Adult Day Service Centers are solely committed to providing dementia specific adult day services to men and women 18 years of age and older who suffer from a progressive memory loss. The Centers incorporate dementia- specific standards of care through a wide range of services such as ongoing clinical intervention and health management by a Florida licensed nurse as well as therapeutic activities that provide physical, cognitive and social stimulation in a safe and supportive environment.

The Garden of Memories, currentlythe only one of its kind at any of the Day Service Centers, is an excellent example of the specialized therapeutic activity offered. It demonstrates the results of Alzheimer's Community Care and the community working together to make a difference.

Alzheimer's Community Care serves as an innovative model of care that advocates for services and resources to promote and provide specialized, compassionate, quality care to Alzheimer's disease and related disorders patients and caregivers.Serving Palm Beach, Martin, and St. Lucie counties, Alzheimer's Community Care's strategic principle is "we place a safety net around patients and caregivers every day."Alzheimer's Community Care is a United Way agency.
