Dreams coming true.... Golf for Wildlife ......

Dreams coming true

Hobe Sound, FL, April 16, 2008 - Golfers and sponsors of the Golf for Wildlife Tournament can help dreams come true on May 16 - while playing in one of Treasure Coast's premier tournaments.

It's been a long road traveled for staff and assorted residents of the Treasure Coast Wildlife Center (TCWC). Nearly four years ago, land in Palm City was donated to the wildlife hospital's foundation to build a new facility after the center's former home was destroyed by the 2004 hurricanes. Permitting for the new center has begun but funds to help underwrite construction expenses are still needed. This facility is desperately needed to house rescued and injured animals and to serve as an educational center where the community will be able to learn about our wildlife, environment, and natural habitats.

On Friday, May 16, the Treasure Coast Wildlife Center is hosting its third Golf for Wildlife Tournament at Loblolly in Hobe Sound. The tournament is limited to only 18 foursomes, so early registration is encouraged but no later than Wednesday, May 14 th. The day will start at 11:30 a.m. with lunch and registration. The tournament will tee off with a shotgun start at 12:30 p.m. and finish with hors d'oeuvres, cocktails and an awards ceremony at 4:30 p.m.

Show your support for the Treasure Coast Wildlife Center, one of the region's most respected environmental organizations. For sponsorship information or to participate in Golf for Wildlife, please contact 772.219.1719 or email lindsay@mcnicholas.biz.

The TCWC, founded in 1974, is a non-profit organization dedicated to the preservation of wildlife and its habitats. This volunteer-driven group annually treats thousands of sick, injured, and orphaned wild animals, including, among others, bobcats, eagles and alligators. The TCWC is the only facility of its kind serving Martin, St. Lucie, Indian River, Okeechobee and Palm Beach counties in Florida and is renowned for its compelling and memorable public educational outreach performed at a variety of occasions to any and all ages. For more information on the TCWC, please visit www.TCWH.org.
