Does your business or employer permit you to wear jeans one day a week or one day a month? What if, by being comfortable one day at work, you could help feed or provide services for a local senior? We would like to acknowledge two local businesses that have done just that. Both Armellini Express Lines in Palm City and Gunster, Attorneys at Law in Stuart collected donations in exchange for allowing their employees to wear jeans to work. The Council on Aging of Martin County is sincerely appreciative of being named a charity to receive the "dress down day" donations collected.
Founded in 1974, the Council on Aging is a private, non-profit organization that provides 20 different services to elder Martin County residents and their families. Services such as Meals on Wheels, adult day care, respite, transportation and in-home assistance promote independence, dignity and self-determination-the keys to successful aging.
Many people think that a small donation won't make a difference. However, all donations,
no matter the size, add up to make a difference in the lives of seniors and their families who turn to the Council on Aging for services and support.
If your company or business currently has a "jeans" day, or if you are considering implementing a "dress down" day, why not do it for a worthwhile cause? Why not have a "Blue Jeans for Seniors" day and support the Council on Aging of Martin County? If you would like more information about the Council on Aging or have questions regarding how you can donate "jeans day" funds, please contact Bonnie Ares Royster, Director of Development at (772) 223-7831, by email at
broyster@coamc.org or mail your donations in care of Bonnie at the Council on Aging of Martin County, 1071 East 10 th Street, Stuart, FL 34996.
Our Seniors Thank You!
