Port St. Lucie - United for Families is now taking reservations for its fourth annual fundraising gala - the Toyota of Stuart Le Bal Masque ~ in the City of Light.
Seats are $125 each, or a table of eight for $875, and include a French five-course meal, champagne bar and silent and live auctions. Only 20 seats remain available.
This year's event is scheduled for 6:30 p.m. October 24 at Willoughby Golf Club. The theme is Le Bal Masque - in the City of Light and features a five-course French meal, Champaign bar, music and silent and live auctions.
"We are selling out very quickly," said Christina Kaiser, United for Families Community Relations Director. "There has been a lot of interest in our auction items this year."
Those items include a trip to the Bahamas - complete with a blue marlins fishing trip and stay over near an old pirates cave, a European Porche driving adventure, family trip to Disney World, a Fighter Pilot for a Day adventure and original work by the Highwaymen.
Committee Chairwoman Terry Rieger, owner of Diamonds by Terry, also donated an $8,500 piece of diamond and citrine jewelry to the event.
United for Families is the non-profit organization responsible for coordinating and overseeing child-welfare services, including foster care and adoptions, in Okeechobee and the Treasure Coast.
Proceeds from the event will help fund United for Families' Road to Success program, which prepares teens and youth for life outside the foster-care system. The program already has seen dramatic results including a decrease in homelessness and an increase in the number of high-school graduates and college entrants.
