The King Charles Tea Shop and Bakery is brewing up a fun beverage and an artistic event to benefit House of Hope and the community at large.
Throughout October, the café's owners - Sherrie and Graham Taylor-Jones - are conducting a "Bubbles for Hope" campaign, donating the proceeds of all sales of bubble tea to House of Hope. Bubble tea is a frothy, refreshing drink that blends tea with ice and a choice of six flavors: coffee, mango, coconut, lychee, honeydew and strawberry. At the bottom are the bubbles -- a layer of Gummi pearls that have a caramel flavor and bring a sweet surprise with every sip.
In November, the King Charles plans to exhibit the work of local amateur artists and hold a reception from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 14. Attendees will be able to sample hors d'oeuvres made at the café, enjoy a beverage and purchase artwork, with proceeds going to House of Hope. Entry fee is $20 per person.
The King Charles Tea Shop and Bakery is located at 662 SE Monterey Road, in Bruner Plaza, Stuart. Artists interested in displaying their wares should contact the shop at (772) 287-7798. More information about the King Charles is online at
