At the new Country Clubof Pointe West, the Brown Club of the Treasure Coast hosted it's second event of the 2007-2008 season. Executive chef Andrew Keller served a truly outstanding gourmet dinner following the cocktail and social hour during which alumni from Melbourne to Stuart mingled and reacquainted. The speaker for the evening was Paula deBlois, Director of Alumni Relations, who highlighted the demographics of alumni around the country and the world.
There was a unanimous vote to hold the next event again at Pointe West. On March 5, Dr. Richard Houghton, President of Torrey Pines, will address the group. Torrey Pines is a bio-tech research firm recently re-located to the Treasure coast from San Diego. Dr. Houghton will speak on the positive impacts which new bio-tech research firms have on the economy, the schools, and the health benefits to society. This evening should hold wide appeal to alums of all ages here in East Central Florida, as we see our area expand in the richness of diversity. Invitations will be sent out to all alumni on the current list.
For more information on the Club, membership, or the upcoming event, please call George Rollinson at 772-770-2408.
