Dr. Richard Houghten, President of Torrey Pines Institute for Molecular Studies, will be the featured speaker at the March 5th social event of the Brown Club of the Treasure Coast. Dr. Houghten brings Torrey Pines to our area from San Diego as part of the recent influx of biotech research firms to Florida. He is the recipient of numerous awards, and holds many issued patents. He will address the group on the positive impacts which the new biotech research firms have on the economy, the schools, and the health benefits to society.
This event will be held at Pointe West Country Club, a new facility located off Route 60 between US-95 and the Indian River Mall. Beginning at six o'clock, a cocktail hour will preceed the gourmet dinner presented by Executive Chef Andrew Keller. A short business meeting and the address by Dr. Houghten will follow. The cost of the evening will be $40.00, and a cash bar will be available.
Invitations have been sent to Brown University alumni and Pembroke College
alumnae. Dinner choices must accompany the reply.
For further information about this event, the Brown Club of the Treasure Coast, or membership, please call George Rollinson at 772-770-2408
