Blake Library in Stuart Is Exclusive Florida Site of September Photo Exhibit
In chilling and astonishing detail, the photos depict the tragic events of Sept. 11 with a raw intimacy and street-level perspective unseen by many Americans outside of New York.
Now, the acclaimed exhibit,
New York, September 11 by Magnum Photographers, is making its Florida debut in the John F. Armstrong Wing of the Blake Library, 2351 S.E. Monterey Road, Stuart, FL.
The free exhibit is the centerpiece of a monthlong, community-wide tribute known as Martin County Remembers September 11.
Exhibit schedule:
Schools, private bookings: Sept. 5 through Sept. 10. Preregistration required.
Public opening: 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. Sept. 11. (Opening ceremony 10:30 a.m., St. Martin de Porres Church, Jensen Beach.)
Public viewings: 10 a.m. to 7 p.m., Monday-Saturday; noon to 5 p.m., Sundays-Sept. 12 to Sept. 30.
Displayed elsewhere only a handful of times since its initial appearance at the New York Historical Society in 2001, the
New York, September 11 by Magnum Photographers exhibit first toured the nation with International Arts & Artists following the five-year anniversary of the attacks.
