The grant application deadline for their fifth cycle of funding is September 30, with grant guidelines and application available on www.martinarts.org. Grant awards will be announced in early January, 2009.
Earlier this year, WSA awarded 18 grants totaling more than $25,000. Grant recipients included Boys and Girls Club of Martin County, Arts Council for Picture People/Artists in Residence/Radio Program, Palm City Elementary, Florida Arts & Dance Co., Friends of the Blake Library Workshop, Helping People Succeed, Inc., Hibiscus Children's Center for arts-related Health and Wellness program, Brenda Leigh's Public Art project, Lyric Theatre's Discovery Series, Jane Miller for Art, Poetry and Drama Study Salons, The Pine School's Performing Art Series, South Fork High School's Showcase Ambassadors, Treasure Coast Youth Symphony, and an internship with International Artists in Residence.
WSA, the Treasure Coast's first giving circle, provides members with opportunities to support the arts and cultural environment in Martin County, also to develop friendships, network and travel with those who enjoy the arts. For more information, call (772) 287-6676, ext. 14.
