Trees for Tykes and Teens
Contributed by: Lauren Espitia on 10/6/2008

Tykes and Teens is gearing up for the premiere of Martin County's newest holiday tradition. The 1st Annual Tykes and Teens Festival of Trees will take place from November 17-December 6, 2008 at the Treasure Coast Square Mall in Jensen Beach. There are still a few spots left for businesses, civic organizations or individuals wishing to donate decorated trees to go on display in the center court of the mall.

The only cost to participants is the donation of an artificial tree, lights and decorations, and each sponsor receives recognition at the event. This is a wonderful way to support a great cause and get some very valuable marketing exposure for your business or organization. Trees will be raffled off and all proceeds benefit Tykes and Teens in their mission to provide mental health counseling and substance abuse prevention and treatment to local children and adolescents.

The centerpiece of this year's event will be a tree titled "Honoring our Soldiers" sponsored by the Tykes and Teens Staff Morale Committee and Kevin and Mary Lou Adrian of Stuart. Treasure Coast residents are invited to send in wallet sized photographs of friends, family and loved ones serving overseas. The pictures will be displayed on the tree as ornaments for the 3 week duration of the festival, to encourage all to remember our soldiers this holiday season. Photos can be mailed until October 31 st to Tykes and Teens "Soldier Tree" PO Box 265 Stuart, FL 34994. Photo ornaments can be picked up at the mall on Dec. 6 th and 7 th.
