The House of Hope board of directors elected three new members this spring.
New to the HOH board are Laurel Kelly, the Martin County Property Appraiser; Brad Larsen, of ERISA Fiduciary Advisors; and Elaine Matts, a real estate agent.
Mrs. Matts volunteers in House of Hope's food pantry in Stuart and also has served on committees to help organize fund-raising events during the past year. Mrs. Kelly and Mr. Larsen are longtime supporters of Martin County nonprofits, including service on the boards of United Way and the YMCA. They bring a wealth of business and agency experience to the HOH board.
Earlier in the year, the board installed new officers:
The new president is Frank Doyle, who also volunteers in the Stuart food pantry. He has been instrumental in attracting more donors and volunteers to House of Hope through his neighbors in Lost Lake and the Retreat. He also has spearheaded changes at HOH, including the case management program to help people get out of crisis and become more economically stable.
Charlie D'Agata, the co-owner of Staffing Solutions of the Treasure Coast, is the new vice president. Returning as treasurer is Robert Berg, formerly of First Atlantic Mortgage.
Cherise Chesney, assistant vice president and manager of the Cove Road branch of Seacoast National Bank, is taking over the position of secretary on the House of Hope board. The outgoing secretary, Judy Rosenthal, remains on the board and is involved in House of Hope's stewardship efforts. She also co-chairs events throughout the year, starting with the "Meal or No Meal" community awareness dinner, scheduled for Nov. 6.
Marc Baldinger, who served for five years as House of Hope board president, will continue his active service on the board, along with Terry Carder, Marian Carpenter, Valerie Graham, Barrett Jones, Sue Kinane, and Father Noel McGrath.
