COAST GUARD AUXILIARY BOATING SKILLS TRAINING
Coast Guard Auxiliary Stuart announces an 16 HOUR Boating Safety Course beginning Monday, June 2, 2008 at it's Operation Center in Sand Sprit Park on St Lucie Blvd, Stuart.
This training is designed for novice as well as experienced boaters and will cover topics such as Navigation Rules, Casting off and docking, Anchoring safely, Trailering your Boat, Useful knots, Seamanship, State & Federal Requirements and much more.
A FREE hand held VHF radio will be given to one of the participants in this class. Details will be explained at the first class.
Registration begins at 6:30 PM. Classes are scheduled for two hours each Monday and Thursday evenings until Certificate night on June 26. The investment in this valuable training is only $49 which covers the cost of materials.
Instruction is provided by senior Auxiliarists at no charge as a public service.

The US Coast Guard Auxiliary is composed of 35,000 uniformed, non-military volunteers who assist the Coast Guard in all of its missions except for military and direct law enforcement. These men and women are found in class rooms teaching boater safety, on the waterways and in the air performing search and rescue missions and safety patrols, and on land visiting marinas and performing vessel safety checks.
When you see them out on the water give them a big wave. They are out there to help you.
