JBHS Senior Best in Show

Julia Sanders, a senior at Jensen Beach High School, was awarded the Best in Show ribbon for her photograph "Lonely Man" at the Moses S. Cone 22nd Annual Juried High School Art Show reception last night. The photograph also garnered the Elliott Museum Purchase Prize. It will be added to the Elliott's permanent collection of photography.

This has been a record-breaking year for Ms. Sanders. Another of her photographs, "Heaven or Hell", went on to win the highest prize awarded for photography in the state of Florida at the PTA Reflections Art Contest, after winning at both the school and county levels.

The outdoor awards ceremony, held in the newly-restored garden at the Arts Council on East Ocean Boulevard in Stuart, was crowded with students, parents, teachers and visiting dignitaries.
