The Arts Council is proud to announce the awards to the outstanding Florida artists who were selected to show at the Annual Juried Exhibition on Friday, February 24th. Approximately 250 artists, Arts Council members and guests attending the festive Awards Reception. The list of awards is as follows: First Place: Valerie Bloomfield-Ambrose "Reflection" . Second Place: Steven McCowan "Sisters Melancholly" .Third Place: Julie Hughes "Jeckyl & Hyde" Honorable Mention: Marjorie Shropshire "Untitled", Nadine Meyers Saitlin "Heart of My Heart" and Susan Granados "Lady in White". Fran Hanan Memorial Award: Rene Guerin "Florida Clouds".
These artworks and much more can be seen at the Court House Cultural Center Gallery, 80 East Ocean Boulevard in Stuart. The Gallery is open Monday through Friday from 10:00 AM - 4:00 PM through April 7, and on Saturdays from 11:00 AM - 3:00 PM. The Arts Council is sponsored in part by the Florida Department of State, Division of Cultural Affairs, the Florida Arts Council, the City of Stuart, the Martin County Board of County Commissioners and private contributions.
