Here's a little departure. This is not a little nook or cranny in Downtown Stuart or in my back yard - but it is a scene on the historic and wildly beautiful Adams Ranch in Fort Pierce. Yes, I do sometimes get out of town. I accompanied my daughter's class on a field trip here. If you ever get an opportunity to visit Adams Ranch you should jump at the chance. And go in the early springtime. (Which is just around the corner.) There are lush greens and wildflowers and wildlife everywhere. We saw cattle and deer and little groves of towering trees.
I come from a long line of grumpy New Englanders who assume that the only beautiful places in the world are rocky New England coastlines or rocky New England hillsides. They have never tooled around a cattle ranch in Florida. Look under those magnificent trees and you will see some very contented cattle enjoying the shade and their corner of the world. The fields and vistas are vast and daunting. And there are no stone walls grubbed out of the soil by earlier generations ofdour New Englanders.
Adams Ranch is another unexpected gem here in Florida. Let me know what you think of the view.

Beautiful. Do you show your work at a gallery? Do you have a price list on each piece?

I completely agree that the Ranch is beautiful - once a year my artist friends & I go out for Artists Day. There is an "artists day" coming up at Adams Ranch on March 25th which is sponsored by Heathcote Botanical Gardens. For $25 you get to spend the day at the ranch to paint, sketch, shoot photos, etc. with a continental breakfast and a box lunch. I have done this several times over the past years and look forward to it every spring.
