Jean's Scenes 11
Contributed by: Jean Sanders on 5/28/2006

It's time to get out of your car, once you finally find that elusive parking space, and scope out historic Downtown Stuart again. I find this old building rather appealing. The light on the Riverwalk Cafe building changes all day long. This was an early morning moment. Somehow the light bounces off the river and the windows and the sky and the bricks sing with colors and relections. And there is something special about the age of the bricks and the glass. New glass is too shiny and uniform and is devoid of personality. Old glass looks burnished and satiny. And these bricks have seem some history - not artful sandblasting. If you turn around you will see next week's painting: a little pink house with windowboxes and flowers and a fence that is decorated with cut-out fish shapes. V. cute. But you won't recognize it unless you get out and look for it. Kick off those Ferragamos, lace up your sneaks and let me know what you think of the views.
