A couple of weeks ago we asked readers and restaurant owners to send us info about great summer specials so we could pass it on to our up-for-anything Foodie readers. We have the first two to pass along this week, and I hope more of you will respond. This is a great way to tell new potential customers about seasonal bargains - please e-mail me at
tcfoodie@yahoo.com and I'll get the word out.
Let me just remind you that this isn't a review or endorsement - just one friend to another in the quest for wonderful food!
Margaret Burri, the owner of Melody Inn in Vero Beach, tells us that her restaurant features French/Swiss cuisine and opens at 5 p.m. Tuesday-Saturday. Each evening there's a super Early Dinner Special for only $19.95 - you get your choice of eight different entrees, plus two sides, a beverage of your choice (soda, wine or beer), dessert and coffee. On Tuesdays only, they also offer 50% off all wine. And Fridays feature all-you-can-eat mussels for $18.75.
The Melody Inn is located at the corner of Route 60 and 14 th Avenue in the Seminole Courtyard Building, (772) 770-2071. They moved there 1-1/2 years ago after a wonderful 26-year run in Coral Gables. They must be doing something right! Tell Margaret you read about her restaurant in YourHub Foodie.
A longtime charmer that's got lots of friends in the area - McCarthy's Restaurant & Pub in Tequesta - is presenting a Theme Night each evening, as well as deep discounts on all nightly specials and the ala carte menu. Some examples of the themes are:
Monday - Corned Beef and Cabbage or Shepherd's Pie $12.95
Tuesday - Maine Lobster - featuring a steamed 1-1/4 pounder $15.95
Thursday - Prime Rib $15.95
For information on the four others, call owner Ray McGlinchey (perfect name of an owner of an Irish pub!) at (561) 644-2383. McCarthy's is located at 187 Tequesta Drive. Please remember to mention our name!
We're waiting to hear from you! The only thing better than great food is great food at a great price. I bet you know where to find it!
