ATTENTION TREASURE COAST CATERERS!
This is an unusual YourHub Foodie column, because a special lady is looking for an equally special caterer to help with a mega Treasure Coast event - and I just know someone who reads this column will be able to offer a solution.
Connie Bass is a remarkable woman who is the driving force behind the volunteers at the Martin County Library System Her imprint is on most of the spectacular fund-raisers and events with which the Library has become synonymous and she's not used to hearing "can't do."
She's snagged NBC News Chief Foreign Affairs Correspondent Andrea Mitchell for an event to be held on February 5, 2007 that will celebrate the Library's 50 th anniversary in a big way. Mitchell, in her role as author of a new book called "Talking Back," will be appearing for one night only at the Lyric Theatre in Stuart.
Now here's the deal: Bass is planning a pre-event cocktail party (it will be limited to 100 guests) to add to the festivities. Because all proceeds will be benefitting the Library, she's hoping a caterer with strong community ties will be willing to donate his, her or their services. This is planned as a very low-key reception, no foie gras or truffles will be served. But what a perfect opportunity for either an established or fledgling caterer to interact with the movers and shakers of the Stuart area, as well as showcase their skills.
If you are in this industry, or know someone who is, please e-mail their particulars to me and I'll make sure Connie Bass gets them right away. I KNOW we can do this! Contact me at
