Our Readers Speak!
Contributed by: Jackie Holfelder on 5/22/2006

Our hope when we started YourHub Foodie was that you'd give us great feedback and interesting input, and that's just what's been happening! We love hearing about from you about things that we can pass along to our readers ... particularly when it's first-hand news about something you're close to yourselves. Following are three special places for you to consider:

As a follow-up to our "Viva Italia!" article, we heard this from owner Jeff Silver: "Hi Jackie, you left out the only true specialty shop in the Vero/Sebastian area. The Fresh Mozzarella Company is located at 8802 US 1 in Sebastian, just north of the Wabasso Bridge. We have prepared meals from Pastosa Ravioli, par-baked brick oven breads from Royal Crown Bakery, H&H Bagels, fresh mozzarella products, the only olive bar in Indian River county, and so much more. Our phone number is (772) 388-6678." Fresh Mozzarella Company sounds like the real deal, and we're grateful that Jeff took time to write and let us know about it.

A few weeks ago we offered "The Best of the Brunch", and a short time afterward, heard from Melissa Lausch. She's the owner of Carmel's Restaurant , 398 21 st Street, Vero Beach, which is celebrating its fifth anniversary this year. She e-mailed: "Hi Jackie, I was excited to read the article on Sunday Brunch inYourHub. I'd like to invite you to give us a try. Beginning May 28 th, we'll be featuring Sunday Brunch. We'll offer all kinds of specialty drinks, including not only traditional Bloody Marys, Mimosas and Bellinis, but also Morning Martinis, Bloody Bulls and Sangria." Melissa also sent along a copy of the a la carte menu, which showcases everything from Caramelized Onion Tart to Carpaccio to Shrimp and Fried Green Tomatoes. It sounds sensational!

Last, but certainly not least, was Harriet Sickler's reply to "They'll Suit You to a Tea."

Hello Jackie," she wrote, "check out this website: www.onceuponateaparty.net. This company is owned by my sister Liz Hancock in Fort Pierce and you will find it interesting and unique." Don't you waste a minute checking it out either - you'll find it as charming as I did. Liz and her daughter Becky Springsteen own "Once Upon a Tea Party", which gives themed magical tea parties for girls aged 5 and up. And they're magical, indeed! Liz and Becky also host bridesmaids' luncheons, adult tea parties and holiday parties. But the tea parties will leave you - and the little girl in your life - speechless.

So there you have a trio of tips to try and test. We hope you enjoy them as much as we did hearing about them. And now that I've passed three great tips on to you, it's time for you to return the favor. We're waiting to hear from you at tcfoodie@yahoo.com.
