OPERATION: KIDS IN CAMP 2008”
Contributed by: Kathy Yebra on 2/27/2008

Four years ago, the "Operation: Kids in Camp" program was launched to raise funds for families that could not afford to send their kids to camp. Since the inception of the program, 471 Martin County children and teenagers have been able to experience summer camp, and most for the first time! This was possible due to the support of our Martin County businesses and private citizens.

The Martin County Parks & Recreation Department is committed to providing quality recreational and educational opportunities to families. Our summer camp options are one way that we fulfill our mission to the families of Martin County.

This year, we hope to grant many more children and teenagers the same opportunity. For as little as $70.00, you can sponsor a week of camp for a child who really needs it.

On behalf of the Martin County Parks & Recreation staff and the families of Martin County, we hope that you will consider sending a child in need to camp this summer.

For further information please feel free to contact Richard Blankenship, Director
at 772-221-1420 or Laura Haase, Recreation Superintendent at 771-221-1430.

We wish you and your family a fun and healthy summer!
