This blog is about the many people, places, things and events of the Comic, Gaming and Collectable community. “Capt.” Joel Kilmer is a native and life long resident of Saint Lucie County. With a love of comics, magic, herpetology (reptiles) and horticulture (bromeliads) “Capt” Joel is always doing something in the community. Big Dog Comics is the largest comic, gaming and collectable shop on the Treasure Coast and has been serving the community for over 23 years. We are active in supporting positive youth activities and community charities.

Once again the year has been good for Big Dog Comics and its many friends, family, and customers. [Except for the horrid road construction on US 1] So as we have done for many, many years its time to let the spirit of Christmas and the Holidays guide our hand in putting together a bigger, better Cornucopia of Holiday goodies for some lucky person or family.

As always items in our Give Away are as varied and wonderful as the people who appreciate them. Some of the types and items include, Star Wars Action Figures, Batman statues, World of Warcraft, Pirates cards, Halo, Naruto, Tee Shirts, Magic TCG cards, Godzilla, Posters, Nascar, Super Hero card set, Inu Yasha, Hot Wheels, Graphic Novels, D & D mini's, Trade Paperbacks, Manga, Dreamblade, Hero Clix, Axis and Allies mini's, Bobble heads, Japanese toys, and of course Comic books.

Last years Christmas package was worth over $2,000 and this year's is over $2,500! One of our regular customers Robert Young won last years Big Dog Comic's TCG and shared it with others and brought smiles and happiness too many young faces. Not to mention our second and third place winners were pretty happy too.

Entry is Free for the first ticket, and only $2 for each additional chance, with donations going to the Children's Miracle Network again, to help in the life of a child. So stop in and register your family or yourself, for Free at, Big Dog Comics and Collectables, 4804 South U S Highway 1, the Del Rio Plaza, Fort Pierce and have a Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays from Capt Joel, his Family and the Dog Pound.
