AT&T * today announced a gift of $7,500 to United Way of St. Lucie County to continue its work to create long-lasting community change.
Nationally, the organization works to advance the common good by focusing on education, income and health. In St. Lucie County, the United Way has a record of supporting projects that address the basic building blocks of a good life for its citizens. For example, in the last year, the organization partnered with 48 local programs that address the critical issues like the need for good child care, adult daycare, hunger, homelessness, drug abuse, and support for the mentally and physically disabled.
"This generous support from AT&T couldn't come at a better time." stated Karen Knapp, president and CEO, United Way of St. Lucie County. "As the period of economic uncertainty continues in St. Lucie County, AT&T's contribution will help us tremendously in working to meet the increase in demand for services in our area."
