Story


First Time In 25 Years

On May 28 it was a night of adventure like it usually is on Thursday Nights at Thunderdome Gaming. Dungeons, Dragons, danger and diamonds were on the menu this misty evening.

Towards the end of the evening and adventure, GM [Game master] Steve Elliser told the players what treasures they had found. 21 year old Katie Basing was excited to find out her character, a Halfling, had found 'A shiny"

When she asked what it looked like, her boyfriend 21 year old Josh Deutsch, said "like this" as she turned around to see him on one knee with a smile, a proposal, and a beautiful ring.

Katie was stunned for a moment and was at a loss for words. After a few second she realized that this fantasy game had just turned into a surprising reality. With tears in her eyes and a quivering voice she responded a wonderful...Yes.

Josh took out the beautiful ring, a Burma Blood Ruby with Diamond accents in a platinum setting and placed it on Katie's shaky hand. They embraced and kissed and the many players at other tables erupted with cheers and applause.

In over 25 years of business on the treasure Coast this is the first time a proposal has been given at Big Dog Comics or its sister store Thunderdome Gaming. Some joked that owner "Capt Joel" Kilmer could marry the couple. He responded "I am Capt Joel by nickname but I may see what it takes to become a notary so I could marry them later...That would be awesome"

After many hand shakes and hugs the happy couple left to go celebrate the big event with each other in a more quite and personal way. Big Dog Comics and Thunderdome Gaming would like to once again congratulate this bright young couple.
