Cartoons, Comics, & Characters from Japan

Around the table sat a cat, a green eyed creature, and cute monster. No it wasn't the band members of KISS, it was some of the members of Otaku Haven. Otaku Haven is a local group of fun loving and dedicated Anime and Manga fans.

Anime, Japanese cartoons, have become quite popular in the US over the last few years along with Manga or Japanese comics. A long time stable over seas it has become quite the thing with young teens and adults today.

Otaku Haven meets the second Sunday of each month at Noon, at Saint Lucie County's main gaming store Thunderdome Gaming. There is a small membership fee and the members, about a dozen, talk about a wide array of things in Anime and Manga. Being true fans of the culture topics have no limits and always spark great conversation and generally laughs and fun.

Going with the theme of things members sometimes take a break and enjoy Ramune, a Japanese soda that is bottled in a unique way with a glass marble as its seal and snack on Pocky a biscuit stick covered in flavors from chocolate to blueberry or coconut. Items are shown and sometime cards like Pokemon are shown and traded.
