"Exotic/Tropical Fruit Tasting" PLUS "Growing/Cooking with Herbs"
Sounds like the best pre - Thanksgiving meeting imaginable! Speakers will be a trio of Master Gardeners: Ina Nance, Dale Galiano, and Bobbi Spencer. They will give an overview of the University of Florida's Master Gardener Program available through the St. Lucie County Co-op Extension. Then expect to hear about delicious items that can be grown in our home gardens on the Treasure Coast. Discussion will include rare fruits such as carambola, monstera, jakfruit, black sapote, plus an assortment of herbs. Attendees will be treated to tastes of various fruits available at this time of year. Information will be available on watering requirements, site and variety selection, and suggestions on where to purchase.
Photos at right show a fruit display and one of the upcoming speakers, Bobbi Spencer, in her role as President of the Rare Fruit Club. Photos of other guest speakers will be posted as they become available.
This St. Lucie West Garden Club sponsored program will take place Friday, November 17, at 10:00, at PGA Country club, 951 Country Club Drive, St. Lucie West.
All visitors are welcome. Please call President Judy Brown (772-873-6884) for more information. This is also the regular monthly meeting, with the following schedule for members: 9:00 social, 9:30 business meeting, 10:00 program.
Garden Clubs And Master Gardeners make a terrific team!

The information on herbs will include how to grow herbs in containers, how to cook with herbs, and how to make great holiday gifts with herbs. Look forward to meeting you all. Ina Nance, St Lucie Ct Master Gardener
