SLW Gardeners Prepare for Flower Show

Everything's coming up roses...? Or Gladiolas or Chrysanthemums?

Lots of things "come up" at meetings of the St. Lucie West Garden Club! Very quickly we'll be ready for our Spring Magic Flower Show on March 14th. In preparation of this big day, the Garden Club has been practicing important skills. Master Flower Show Judge Jenny Boyenga did some magical demonstrating at the January meeting of the group. With assistance from Master Judge Bea Cooper, the demonstration was informative and inspiring.

Also at the January meeting, the club sponsored an in-house plant sale. Great choices and fun for members to exchange plants. One happy member who writes this story came home with a cute-as-a-button budding Kalanchoe. Had her eye on an Anthurium, but her wallet was not quick enough. Thanks to all the members who brought plants for the event!

What next? Maybe everything IS coming up roses! There will be a field trip to the Blooming Idiot's rose farm on February 12th. Then the February 22nd meeting will have members bringing favorite floral containers from home. They will each try their hands at designs. This is going to be GOOD!
