46 years ago I was a sophmore in high school in Philadelphia, PA and being followed by a handsome boy from class to class who was working up the courage to ask me out. In those days you usually had mutual friends to introduce you. But, we did not know the same people. So, one day after class, Jerry walked up to me and said, " Hi, I'm Jerry Borie, want to go out with me?"
I didn't know him from Adam, and said, "NO." I told my friends about him and they said he was a nice guy so I should go out with him. Well, he never asked me again. 46 years later I am a widow and he is divorced. We both sign up on Classmates.Com
to get reunion information about our upcoming 50th class reunion. He called me and said, " I don't know if you remember me, but I asked you out on a date back in high school and you said no. I told him I did remember him and we planned to meet for lunch and talk about the past 46 years. A year and a half later we married and in 2005 went to our 50th class reunion as Mr. and Mrs. He is a wonderful man and still has that certain boyish charm. I truly regret not accepting that first date! But, as they say, "Better late than never."

My mom and Jerry are like two peas in a pod, Jerry never refers to us as his step children but his children. I am glad they found each other after so many years.
