Filomena Ruffolo IS CELEBRATING her One Hundredth birthday!!

Born in Brooklyn, New York, on November 26, 1909, " Flo" as she is known, is the wife of the late Eugene Ruffolo, whom she married on September 9th 1928 in St. Michael's Church, Brooklyn, NY .

She is the mother of the late Caroline Trent and currently lives with her son, Lake Forest at St Lucie West resident Eugene Ruffolo and his wife Noreen. She has six grandchildren, six great-grandchildren and two great-great-grand children.

Flo lived in Brooklyn for most of her life, where she worked in the manufacturing division of the A&P supermarkets and later worked as candy maker for the Mason Peaks Candy Company. An avid dancer in her younger days, she enjoyed attending many community dances and parties in Brooklyn Heights with her husband Eugene, her friends and neighbors.

Family was a priority, and the family spent many Sundays gathered around Flo's table for traditional Italian favorites.

Moving from Brooklyn Heights to Bensonhurst, she became a member of St Anthanasius Church and attended the City of New Yorks' Senior day program where she was an accomplished card player.

Flo left New York and moved to Lake Forest in March of 2007. She enjoys attending the St. Lucie Council on Aging Congregate meal program and various daily activities sponsored at the center. She also enjoys participating in the Lake Forest International Food Club and Relay for Life team activities.

A party will beheld on November 14th at her home in Lake Forest given by her family and friends in the Lake Forest International Food Club.
