St. Lucie West Garden Club 's New Officers

Welcome New Officers! St. Lucie West Garden Club celebrated the past and the present at our April Meeting.

It was a year of great garden related happenings, so It was difficult say "good bye" to our outgoing officers. President Judy Brown gave roses to her Board and thanked all members for their support during her two years in office. She passed golden wrapped chocolates to each member, reminding us of a sweet and delicious time together. Meanwhile Outgoing VP Donna Swift and Corresponding Secretary Kathy Koning had whipped together a wonderful slide show, set to music! Stellar photographer and media whiz Beth Rising helped assemble the project. Great fun for all who watched!

Next it was time to welcome the new officers. The list of new Officers of St. Lucie West Garden Club for 2008-2010 (a two year term):

President Nancy Allen
1st VP Gigi Norelli
Second VP Ellabee Scully
Treasurer Barbara Meinken
Assistant Treasurer Ceil Deigmann
Recording Secretary Kathy Koning
Corresponding Secretary Cheri Mabry

District X DirectorJoleen King led the Installation Ceremony, a cleverly amusing induction of the new officers. She gave each officer a "light", which was her leadership theme for the induction. Nancy received a lantern and a crown for leadershp, Gigi a black light bulb for partying program planning, Ellabee a grow light and vitamins for membership, Barbara an efficient florescent light bulb to save money, Ceil a lighted crown to assist, Kathy a reading light for recording, and both a modern and wax candle for Cheri Mabry's correspondence.

Now that all our officers are duly authorized leaders, we see the light leading us to another year of great garden learning and fun!
