Paintball Helps Local Businesses
Contributed by: Rush Paintball on 5/12/2008

Businesses across The United Kingdom have been using paintball for years as corporate team building, employee incentives and relation builders with valued clients. Just Google "Corporate Paintball Events" and there's over 25 pages of UK paintball fields that cater to the corporate market. And it's starting to catch on in the United States, and Rush Paintball is willing to accommodate that market.

Best Lighting Supply, Definitive Electronics and Electrical Consulting Services have visited Rush Paintball, using the facility as team building events for their employees. Mike Evans, one of the owners of Best Lighting Supply, http://bestlightingsupply.com/, a wholesale electrical supply house in Lake Park, treats his employees to regular visits. "Its part team building and part having fun together, getting some exercise--it beats going to a bar after work just to hang out. Some of us bring our kids along, so we are combining work and family all in one shot. Everyone always has a blast and it makes for some interesting water cooler talk during the week."

Don Dixon, President and CEO of Definitive Electronics, www.desflorida.com, brought his employees out for a team-building event. "I provided this experience for my employees so they would have a chance to enjoy themselves outside of work, a way to say 'Thank you.' I also believe it gave everyone a chance to form better team-building skills, allowing them to get away from the office, outside of their everyday tasks and forcing them to communicate in a different atmosphere."

Owned and operated by Don and Sharon Guest out of Jupiter, Florida, Rush Paintball is one of the newest paintball facilities in South Florida. "Our main clientele is birthday parties, bachelor parties and corporate groups," said owner Don Guest, "and we have seen the corporate market explode over the last 6 months."

Because paintball requires the use communication, planning and group cooperation paintball is proving to be an extremely popular activity for businesses and corporations. Evans feels paintball has helped his employees, thus helping his company, "People who normally don't work with others get a chance to hang out, improve relationships that sometimes get frayed in the heat of the battle during the work week. Not to mention you get to shoot some paint at your boss."

Dixon feels it gives his employees a chance to become closer and, "Anytime you get a group of workers out to let their hair down, it should turn into a rewarding experience for any company."

Independent safety statistics show paintball is safer than what most people do in day-to-day activities--jogging, bicycling, walking--and among other sports even golf and bowling. Dixon felt safety was not a concern. "I have visited several other area paintball fields in the past and can assure you that Rush Paintball has most definitely been the best. Not only are the fields very well maintained but the referees for each of the fields are very professional and handy."

"Aside from the bumps and bruises you get from running around, safety is never really a concern," said Evans.

"As long as players follow a few safety rules, everyone can have a fun and safe time," replied Guest.

Paintball has become popular with companies because it not only provides fun and an outlet for the employees and the business owner, but it also increases work time productivity by relieving stress and encouraging cooperation and communication among co-workers. it because they are having so much fun. Rush Paintball can provide organized games and activities that reinforce these benefits, "But we have found that most companies just want to go out, have fun and do their own thing," said Guest, "and that's fine with us as long the boss feels like he's getting what he paid for."

Rush Paintball provides all needed equipment, tents, tables, free photos of your event, referees and even food and drinks if desired. All rates are on the website, http://rushpaintball.net/id27.html, and corporate rates are available.
