IRC Big Brothers Big Sisters Programs
Contributed by: Shanna Ward   on 9/23/2008

Big Brothers Big Sisters in Indian River County has three programs (T.E.A.M., JUMP, and MCOP).

T.E.A.M. (Tennis Education and Mentoring) is a mentoring program that takes place at the Sebastian and South County Boys and Girls Clubs. A mentor is matched with a student to play tennis together.

JUMP into Reading is a program that services kindergarten, first and second graders at Glendale, Highlands, Dodgertown, Citrus, Sebastian and Treasure Coast Elementary. Students that are struggling are matched with a mentor who meets with them for a small amount of time each week on school grounds.

MCOP (Mentoring Children of Promise) is a program that services children who have a parent incarcerated at a state or federal prison. Mentors who are matched with these children have the ability of meeting with their Little outside of school.

If you are interested in learning more about any of these programs or how you can help Big Brothers Big Sisters, contact Shanna Ward at (772) 770-6000 or shannaanne@hotmail.com.
