Blog Entry 5 of 11 Hooked On Jesus Works For Me!
I am souled out on Jesus, and love to talk with other who are as well. I also love to share the amazing transformation Jesus has made in my life with others who are seeking answers to life's tough questions and just not having any luck with the answers. I don't have all the answers by any stretch, but I do spend a lot of time in the Answer Book. I am concerned about families and the pressures families face every day. I desire to help families not just cope with the challenges of life, but to be victorious over those challenges. Together in Christ, we can overcome those challenges. Join my on the journey of faith. It is one not meant to be taken alone, but rather in community with others seeking the same goal: the best for their families. Knowing the Author of Life is a crucial step in the right direction. Let's enjoy the journey together.

A Day That Will Live In Infamy
Contributed by: Scott Blount   on 12/7/2006

That's what President Franklin Delano Roosevelt called December 7, 1941. The Japanese air force inflicted the most serious losses of American military lives in a single day in our history. 2,390 died and another 1,178 others were wounded in this attack. The attack on Pearl Harbor by enemies of the United States brought this country full force into World War II. The nation united in sacrifice and victory was the ONLY acceptable outcome.

September 11, 2001: another day that should live in infamy. Islamafascists attacked this nation, killing 2,973 people in New York City, Washington DC and in Shanksville, PA. Thousands more were injured in these attacks. A mere five years later America seems to have lost her desire to unite in order to defeat the enemies of this nation. Victory does not appear to be the only acceptable outcome of this war against the Islamafascists who desire to see our nation in ruins. The "Iraq Surrender Group" uh, "Iraq Study Group" has listed dozens of recommendations to get us out of Iraq without ever addressing the root of the problems over there: the terrorists who are fueling the fighting going on in that country.

Now, we have an elected US official who refuses to place his hand on the Bible to be sworn in as a United States Representative, instead insisting that he will use the Koran. Keith Ellison, D-Minnesota is a Muslim, and he has decided that he will determine what book on which to swear his allegiance to the Constitution of the United States. What a dangerous precedent if this is allowed to stand! This nation was founded on Christian principles, and no matter how hard the PC police and the history revisionists may try, there are plenty of us who will never allow such revisionism to stand.

This nation is adrift in a post modern muck of confusion. Until and unless "We the people" stand back up and demand that our nation be ONE nation under God, indivisible with liberty and justice for all, we will drift toward the trash heap of history. Are we bound to repeat the mistakes of past great civilizations? Will we fall like the Greeks? Are we doomed to be listed along with the Roman Empire as a mighty civilization that collapsed from within?

Make no mistake about it. I am a Christian first. My first allegiance is to the Kingdom of Christ. I am an American citizen next, and I will do my part to help this nation stand strong. I just pray that the American people will wake up and realize that appeasement of our enemies is not the answer. Defeat of our enemies is. Trying to get along with those who seek our destruction will only ensure our destruction. Our ONLY option in the war on terror (and make no mistake, the battle lines in this war are currently being fought in Iraq) is victory. May our nation unite in that effort today, just as we did 65 years ago following that "day that will live in infamy."

Dear Scott, Whatever happened the Prince of Peace in your war? Whatever happened to "feed your enemies so that they will be ashamed," Whatever happened "love your enemies, do good to those who harm you," etc.? I've seen volunteer work on sustainable development on a village basis by North Americans that deals with alienation, poverty, and the lack of communication that breed terrorism, among other things. Go to www.plenty.org. Mother Teresa called these folks the hope of the world, and she has some choice words about violence and war in her "The Joy in Loving." Are you sure you're not throwing out some of the most crucial good teaching in your book?
