Blog Entry 11 of 11 Hooked On Jesus Works For Me!
I am souled out on Jesus, and love to talk with other who are as well. I also love to share the amazing transformation Jesus has made in my life with others who are seeking answers to life's tough questions and just not having any luck with the answers. I don't have all the answers by any stretch, but I do spend a lot of time in the Answer Book. I am concerned about families and the pressures families face every day. I desire to help families not just cope with the challenges of life, but to be victorious over those challenges. Together in Christ, we can overcome those challenges. Join my on the journey of faith. It is one not meant to be taken alone, but rather in community with others seeking the same goal: the best for their families. Knowing the Author of Life is a crucial step in the right direction. Let's enjoy the journey together.

Teach Your Children Well
Contributed by: Scott Blount   on 7/26/2007

No, I am not referring to the Crosby, Stills, Nash and Young tune. I am talking about the most important duty a parent has on this earth: to teach our children well. While there are plenty of dysfunctions in family relationships these days, and while there are plenty of downright selfish adults who refuse to take on the responsibility for the children they bring into this world, there are many other parents who simply don't know how to teach their children well. It's not that they don't want to, they just have not be properly trained and equipped.

What if there was help for parents who desire to learn more about teaching their children well? What if parents were equipped to be the primary teachers of their children in a manner that was non-threatening to the parent or the child? Would it be something worth looking into?

Obviously, I am talking about training children in the way they should go so that when they are old they will not depart from that teaching. Obviously, I am talking about biblically-based teaching not just for our children, but for their parents as well. Would you still be interested? If so, let me know by sending me an email to scott@verochristian.com I am investigating a family-based teaching system that could revolutionize your relationship with your kids. Are you willing to invest as little as 30 minutes a week in your kids? Would you seek to be more intentional in what you do and when you do it when it comes to your kids? Last time I blogged here (and that was ages ago by cyberspace standards), I spoke of Deuteronomy 6 and the biblical imperative for parents to teach their children. I just wonder if anyone out there is willing to explore a method that is different from what they have tried (or not tried) in the past. We'll see.
