Men,
From the New Testament portion of today's One Year Bible reading:
John 8:10ff
Then Jesus stood up again and said to the woman, "Where are your accusers? Didn't even one of them condemn you?" "No, Lord," she said. And Jesus said, "Neither do I. Go and sin no more."
Something's not fair here. This woman HAD committed adultery. The law, GOD'S law mind you,
required
her punishment. The Pharisees accusing her had it
right
. How is Jesus able to suspend the requirements of God's law and let her off the hook? I thought God's law MUST be satisfied!! The answer is that God's law WAS satisfied. Her adultery WAS punished. It was punished upon Jesus at the cross. He could let her go because he knew what he was shortly to do on her, and our, behalf. Somethings not fair here - it's called "grace".
I pray that today, you will go and sin no more. Please pray that for me.
