From the Old Testament portion of today's One Year Bible reading:
I Samuel 19:9-10
But one day when Saul was sitting at home, with spear in hand, the tormenting spirit from the Lord suddenly came upon him again. As David played his harp, Saul hurled his spear at David. But David dodged out of the way, and leaving the spear stuck in the wall, he fled and escaped into the night.
David had been anointed Saul's successor as king of Israel, but David's time had not yet come. He was stuck as a servant of Saul, who had also been anointed and was OVER David in God-ordained authority. That made Saul "untouchable" by David. What do you do when an "untouchable" is throwing spears at you? Answer...dodge.
I pray that you will successfully dodge spears today. Please pray that for me.
