Proverbs 18:15
Intelligent people are always ready to learn. Their ears are open for knowledge.
This is my proof-text for audio-books. They're available in the public library for free...all genres including history, biography, sports, religion, business, self-improvement,etc.
I spent three hours the other day doing mindless chores...cleaning out the fish pond, working in the yard, washing the car. And I also spent that three hours reading (listening to) a book. In his book
"Love is the Killer App",
Yahoo Chief Solutions Officer Tim Sanders states: "
Reading is a source of potency, so manage it like an asset
."
Many of you are voracious readers, easily putting me to shame. Kudos to you. But some haven't cracked a book in years and as a result are "standing still" intellectually while others are passing you by. Don't let that happen. I am an exceptionally slow reader...but using audio books I can easily manage to "read" a book a week, often more.
I know, I know, audio-books aren't for everyone. Fine.Then what ARE you doing to grow intellectually?
I pray that today, your "
ears are open for knowledge
." Please pray that for me.
