New Testament portion
of today's One Year Bible reading:
Romans 15:30
Dear brothers and sisters, I urge you in the name of our
Lord Jesus Christ
to join in my struggle by praying to God for me. Do this because of your love for me, given to you by the Holy Spirit.
There can be little disagreement that Paul was an incredibly gifted Christian. He received direct and special revelation from God. Jesus visibly appeared to him. Paul wrote most of the New Testament. He could heal people and raise the dead. He'd seen
visions of heaven
that words were inadequate to describe. And yet, he zealously recruited Christians to pray for him and the challenges he encountered in his life on
planet earth
.
What about us?
How much time and effort have we invested in recruiting people to pray for us?
EVERY CHRISTIAN needs others to pray for him. Hint - it usually won't happen unless we ask someone.
Today, I join in your struggle by praying to God for you. Please do likewise for me.
