But many of the older priests, Levites, and other leaders who had seen the first Temple wept aloud when they saw the new Temple's foundation. The others, however, were shouting for joy. The joyful shouting and weeping mingled together in a loud noise
Is everything right in your life? No?
Join the club
. As far as our circumstances go, i.e. family peace & harmony, job, finances, health, church - we
always
experience a mix of joy and sorrow. While it's good to work for resolution in the troublesome areas, don't have a false expectation that everything should be, or will be, sweetness and light...not on this side of heaven anyway. No one is experiencing that so don't think you're all alone. Only the "joy of the Lord" can be constant as it is independent of our circumstances.
I pray for you to know the
joy of the Lord today
. Please pray that for me.
