New Testament portion
of today's One Year Bible reading:
I Corinthians 16:13
Be on the alert, stand firm in the faith, act like men, be strong.
I find it interesting that Paul singled out men in this verse saying "
act like men
". What does that mean? Some of us were raised with fathers who provided models of Godly manhood. Others of us had to go looking for those models elsewhere. Some of us are still not sure of everything it means to "
act like men
". But two things this verse shows us.
1) The quest to
understand
Christian manhood and
live it
is something God wants us to do.
2) Christian manhood includes being alert, strong, and standing firm in the faith.
I pray that you will man-up today. Please pray that for me.
