Old Testament
portion of today's One Year Bible reading:
Ecclesiastes 8:12-13
But even though a person sins a hundred times and still lives a long time, I know that those who fear God will be better off. The wicked will not prosper, for they do not fear God.
Financial success and long life don't always come to God-followers nor are they always denied to those who reject him. We reject riches and longevity as the primary motivations in our life and conduct. At best, they are happy by-products, though not guaranteed.
