Psalm 149:6
"Let the praises of God be in their mouths, and a
sharp sword
in their hands."
Kind of sounds like that old prayer "Praise the Lord and pass the ammunition." As you know,
our "sword", or main offensive weapon, is the
Word of God
(Ephesians 6:17).We don't need
just
a sword in our hands, we need a
SHARP sword
. Thus, we want to read the Bible daily...LARGE portions of it if possible. That's why I like the One Year Bible (
www.oneyearbible.com
) - it lets us get that whole Bible under our belts on a yearly basis. I don't want to take a
toothpick
into a
sword-fight
, do you? And to paraphrase what is now an
old
pirate movie "You best start believing in sword-fights 'cause you're
in one
!"
I pray that today you will praise God and wield your sword. Please pray that for me.
