Acts 24:24-25
"As Paul reasoned with them about righteousness and self-control and the coming day of judgment, Felix became frightened. 'Go away for now,' he replied.
'When it is more convenient, I'll call for you again.'"
When I was in software sales we were trained to deal with this type of objection. For instance, the conversation might have gone like this:
Steve: "When
WILL it be more convenient, Mr. Felix?"
Felix: "I'm not sure, don't call me, I'LL call YOU."
Steve: "Mr. Felix, do you have any objections to becoming a Christian other than the 'convenience factor?'"
Felix: "Yes, I mean no, I mean maybe...I'm really not sure. I'll call you later."
Steve: "You really have no intention of calling me later, do you Mr. Felix?"
Felix: "No I don't, you rude, pushy, obnoxious, sales-dog!" (Door slams in face).
Any sales-person would rather get a definite "no" or a definite "yes" over the dreaded "Call me later" or "I'll call you later." I imagine God is the same way. "I'll call you later" is just a timid or polite person's way of saying "
NO." Procrastination IS a decision....it's a NO decision.
I pray that today, you will do what's RIGHT over what's convenient. Please pray that for me.
