McKee Botanical Garden hosts Frabel's Glass Art

What:	NEXT › ‹ PREVIOUS McKee Botanical Garden is proud to host internationally renowned artist Hans Godo Frabel's Glass Art Collection. The exhibit, entitled 'Frabel's Reflections of Glass on Water' will run November, 2008 through April, 2009. Stunning glass sculptures - 170 in all - will be creatively displayed within McKee Botanical Garden's lush setting, with special emphasis on integrating the Garden ponds and waterways. Hans Godo Frabel is one of the world's most famous flamework glass artists. His works are found in public and private collections around the world. Museums that have hosted Frabel include the Smithsonian Institution, Metropolitan Museum of Art, Musee des Arts Decoratifs, Victoria and Albert Museum, and the Eibu Museum of Art. The official unveiling is scheduled for Wednesday, November 12, 2008 and will include a tented evening affair with an opportunity to preview the sculptures in the Garden. A series of live glass blowing demonstrations will be held during thesix month exhibition, featuring expert flameworkers from Frabel Studios in Atlanta. McKee Garden's annual benefit fundraiser will be held February 28, 2009 and themed The Orchid Ball Presents: Frabel, Fire & Ice.
