A new feature of the Downtown Vero Farmers' Market is a cooling station available throughout the summer months. This addition allows market customers to cool down under a cooling mist while feeling about 20 degrees cooler. This ecologically friendly station uses only about one gallon of water each hour. Bobbi Spencer, Market Manager states "Customers and vendors really appreciate the new feature by walking through or standing under the refreshing mist several minutes." According to Maria Kovachev, Director of Main Street Vero Beach, "even though our northern visitors have left the area, our 15-20 vendors continue to supply fresh baked goods, produce, honey, and delicious prepared foods. Local folks continue to strongly support the market and downtown businesses greatly appreciate the extra traffic the market brings to the area." Spencer states "the market is smaller during the summer months but continues to bring fresh produce, seafood, plants, breakfast and lunch items, and much more to Vero Beach and surrounding residents." The market is open every Friday from 9am to 2pm year-round and is located at 14th Avenue and 21st Street next to the Heritage Center. Plentiful parking is located along the street and on the east side of the market along the railroad track with the Main Post Office is right across the street.
Kovachev emphasized "This is still a fairly new market venture that Main Street proudly sponsored as of last October. It will continue year-round as long as supported by the local community. Come "chill out" while supporting local area vendors at the market this Friday!"
