920th Rescue Wing Commander to speak at MOAA event

What:	The September Military Officer Association of America (MOAA) Chapter Dinner will be Wednesday evening, September 17th at the Best Western on Route 60. The featured speaker is Colonel Steve W. Kirkpatrick, Commander of the 920th Rescue Wing, Patrick AFB. The social hour is at 6:00 p.m., followed by dinner at 6:45 p.m. The dinner selections are (1) Onion Crusted Grouper or (2) Twin Tenderloin of Beef each with a garden salad, twice baked potato, and Vegetable, rolls & butter, dessert, coffee and ice tea. Telephone: 772-794-0261. The program is open to the public. Dress: Coat and tie. Colonel Kirkpatrick is the commander of the 920th Rescue Wing, Patrick AFB, FL. The wing is equipped with five HC-130P/N tanker aircraft and 15 HH-60G Pave Hawk helicopters to support worldwide combat rescue operations, the National Aeronautics and Space Administration's space shuttle program and the 45th Space Wing's range clearing missions. The wing is authorized 1,250 personnel assigned to four groups, 10 squadrons, six flights, a headquarters section and two geographically separated units in Arizona and Oregon. The colonel provides leadership, management and supervision and is responsible for the organization, training and equipping of the wing. During wartime, the 920th Rescue Wing's assets are assigned to Air Combat Command. Colonel Kirkpatrick was commissioned through the U.S. Air Force Academy in 1984. He is a command pilot with more than 5,400 flying hours, including combat time in Desert Storm, Enduring Freedom and Iraqi Freedom. Colonel Kirkpatrick is an air reserve technician, a full-time federal civil service employee serving in a selected position within a military unit.
