SEAL Captain will address Navy League

What:
On September 11, the Treasure Coast Navy League Council will kick-off their fall monthly dinner meetings with guest speaker, U.S. Navy SEAL Captain Frank W. Winget, Military Deputy, Irregular Warfare Directorate (J10), United States Special Operations Command, MacDill AFB, FL. Navy League members and general public are invited.
CAPT Winget reported aboard NR SOCOM Det 108 in 2007 and was assigned to the newly established Irregular Warfare Directorate. He accepted a request from USSOCOM to return to active duty in October 2007 as the Military Deputy for Irregular Warfare.
CAPT Winget began his naval service, enlisting in the Navy in 1972. He graduated from Basic Underwater Demolition/SEAL (BUD/S) training in 1975 and was assigned as a Platoon Operator aboard Underwater Demolition Team 21 (UDT-21). From 1977-79, he was assigned to Ft. Lauderdale as a research diver for the Naval Surface Weapons Center.
CAPT Winget affiliated with the Naval Reserve in 1979. His enlisted reserve assignments include SEAL Team 2, Naval Special Warfare Group 2 and Naval Special Warfare Unit 4. CAPT Winget received a bachelor's degree in Engineering Technology from the University of Central Florida in 1983. In 1985 he received a direct commission as an Ensign. CAPT Winget has commanded several Naval Reserve Units including Naval Special Warfare Units 4 and 8, Special Operations Command South Det 108 and Naval Special Warfare Detachment Florida. He has participated in numerous Fleet and Special Operations exercises in the U.S., Far
East, Europe and Central America.
CAPT Winget has been associated with the National Navy UDT-SEAL Museum,Ft. Pierce since its inception and has served as an Officer on the Board of Directors for the past several years.
The September 11 program will be held at the Best Western dining facility at 8797 20th St. (Route 60), Vero Beach. The reception commences at 6:00 p.m. followed by dinner at 7:00p.m. The menu will be a choice of Grilled Chicken Filet or Shrimp Scampi over Rice. Price for the dinner is $20 per person. Please note menu selection on your check and send your reservations by September 8 to Treasure Coast NLUS Council #334, P.O. Box 643845, Vero Beach, FL. 32964.
