Gifford Middle School Band Dolphin Dash 5K

The 14 th Annual Gifford Middle School Band Dolphin Dash 5K and 1 Mile Run will be held at Riverside Park in Vero Beach on November 7, 2009. Registration will begin at 6:30 a.m. and the race will start at 7:30 a.m. The entry fee is $15.00 paid in advance and $20.00 on race day. Entry forms can be downloaded at the band website, gmsband.com. The course will be fast, flat and scenic, beginning and ending at the Grand Pavilion and winding through Riverside Park. Plenty of parking will be available in the parking lot across from Riverside Theater and in the grassy lot to the west. Trophies will be awarded for the top male and female in each race, and three deep male and female in the 5K in the usual age categories. After the race, the GMS Jazz Band will perform while the racers enjoy refreshments and wait for race results provided by Sailfish Striders. All proceeds will benefit the Gifford Middle School Band program and allow the Band Director, Ashby Goldstein to buy instruments and other band equipment, to arrange instructional clinics and to host the countywide GMS Middle School Summer Band Camp.
