YOUTH GUIDANCE MASTER TO BE DECIDED IN NOVEMBER

What:	NEXT › ‹ PREVIOUS The Youth Guidance 5th Annual Masters of the King of the Hill Tennis Tournament will be held Fridays, November 6, 13 and 20, at The Boulevard Village and Tennis Club, Vero Beach. The Senior Division begins at 5:00pm and the Open Division begins at 6:30pm. This exciting competition involves U.S.P.T.A. Professionals from Vero Beach, Melbourne, Port St. Lucie and surrounding areas. The event provides a unique opportunity for the winners of the previous 14 King of the Hill Tournaments to play one another to determine who the "Master" is of all the King of the Hill winners. The King of the Hill Tennis Tournament, played at the Moorings Club in January and February, originated in 1996 to provide area tennis fans the opportunity to enjoy high level doubles competition and tennis professionals the chance to participate and enjoy the spirit of competition. All monies raised at the Masters will directly benefit the children in the Youth Guidance Mentoring & Activities Program. Tickets are only $5.00 and there will be a lot of excitement including a 50/50 raffle. The primary purpose of Youth Guidance is to match each of its 700 at-risk K-12 children with a volunteer mentor 17 years and older. Mentors spend just a few hours a week with their mentee. The agency is actively seeking volunteers to serve as mentors, tutors or periodic volunteers at a special activity or to provide regular help in the office. Youth Guidance is also looking for partnerships with businesses, service clubs and church groups to pair with their unmatched children for just one activity a year. The Guidance Gallery, a board featuring 80 Youth Guidance children who need mentors, is available for organizations or businesses to display in their lobbies to help recruit mentors.
